Many Firsts *guest blog by Greg Geiger

Whassup? This is my first crack at blogging.  My wife finally gave in.  The Orange and Blue Debut 2008 was also a day of many firsts.  It was the first day for the Geiger Boys to see the Fighting Gators play in the Swamp.  The ESPN College Game Day crew was televising live and there were many prominent Gators present.  We had the opportunity to see and have our picture taken not only with Coach Urban Meyer's first national championship trophy from the 2006 season, but also with Tim Tebow's heisman trophy, the first ever to be won by a sophmore.

Not only did we get to see and pose with the trophies, Rez actually slipped under the chain and tried to hoist the national championship trophy.  Note my surprise as security is stepping in.  Another proud moment as a father, as everyone would like for their son to have the chance to raise the trophy high.  Reminds me of the inspirational words of Shane Falco, "Pain heals, chicks dig scars, but glory... lasts forever."  At least he didn't drop and break it like one of the recruits did a few days later!

Angels 'round me day and night.  Some are there for comfort and some are there for fight.  This is what guardian angels look like here in Gainesville.

Neo heard many stories that day of many gator greats and saw some new ones created.  Here's to many more.

GO GATORS!
